2022 New England Patriots Off-Season Training Schedule Dates Announced
It’s starting to look a lot like the start of the 2022 NFL season.
Since the start of the League year on March 16, all 32 teams, including the New England Patriots, have continued to build their rosters for the next season in the first waves of free agency.
With less than a month to go until the 2022 NFL Draft, the NFL has announced the dates for each team’s offseason training schedule. The schedule was published by a communication note sent Friday afternoon.
For the Patriots, their offseason program will begin on April 18 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The team will organize ten volunteer team activities organized between May 23 and June 17. The mandatory minicamp is scheduled to start on June 7.
Here is the New England Patriots off-season training schedule for 2022:
(dates are subject to change at the discretion of the team)
First day: April 18

Compulsory minicamp: June 7-9
Voluntary off-season training programs aim to provide training, instruction and physical conditioning to players. In accordance with the NFL collective bargaining agreement, the voluntary nine-week offseason program is conducted in three phases:
The first phase of the program consists of activities including meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation. These activities take place over a period of two weeks.
During the second phase, teams can increase their activities for on-field training. For the Patriots, practices will take place in Foxboro over the next three weeks. They may include individual or group instructions and drills, as well as “perfect play drills”, and drills and games with offensive players lined up opposite offensive players and defensive players lined up opposite defensive players, led in step. No direct contact or team offense against team defense drills are allowed.
The third phase takes place over the last four weeks of the program. Teams can complete a total of 10 days of organized team training activities, otherwise known as OTAs. Currently, 7v7, 9v7 and 11v11 drills are allowed without direct contact.
Full practices and contact drills will arrive when the Patriots regroup for training camp in late July.
While the NFL has yet to announce details regarding training camp or preseason games, it was reported earlier this week that the Patriots and Carolina Panthers are expected to participate in joint workouts during the pre-season; with sessions likely to take place in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Although the NFL has yet to announce its preseason or regular season schedule for the upcoming season, the New England-Carolina pairing comes as no surprise given their history of preseason games together. .
The Pats are in line for two home preseason games in 2022, under the League’s new three-game alternating preseason format. As a result, New England would be the likely home team for that August game, although that is yet to be confirmed.
