Cherokee Beekeepers Association: Will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 26 at 7 p.m. at AgCentral Farmers Co-op on Congress Parkway in Athens.

Sanford Baptist Church: Will hold a fall gathering on Sunday, October 24 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The public is invited to this event, which will include sweets, food and activities. Church located at 2415 County Road 50 in Riceville.

Athens Christian Church: Will prepare Thanksgiving baskets for anyone in need during the Thanksgiving season. In order to receive a basket, proceed as follows. First, that person should call the church at 423-333-5085 to get on a list by November 8th. Second, you must show valid ID on the day of pickup and complete a form. Third, the day when you can pick up your Thanksgiving basket from church will be November 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Church located at 802 Matlock Avenue in Athens.

Mars Hill Presbyterian Church: Has a supply of crutches, wheelchair, walker, walker, and other medical items that can be borrowed. Call the church office at 423-734-1403 Tuesday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for more information.

McMahan Calvary Cemetery: located in Athens on County Road 172 (formerly Clearwater Road), needs immediate donations to continue mowing and maintenance in 2021. Cemetery is maintained only by donations from families and friends. Donors should make checks payable to McMahan Calvary Cemetery Fund and mail them to Robert Guthrey, a fund trustee, at PO Box 272, Athens, TN 37371-0272.

East Tennessee Treasure Hunters Club: Currently in training for anyone interested in metal detecting and wishing to be part of a group that meets and takes trips to the East Tennessee area. Contact Joe in Etowah at 423-493-3706 for more information or to join the club.

Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Etowah: Looking for donations to keep mowing. Make checks payable to Pleasant Grove Cemetery and mail to: Karen Wear Taylor, 131 County Road 903, Etowah, TN 37331.
