Du and Huawei strengthen the UAE workforce with the launch of new professional development programs

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: du, of the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), has signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei to foster development, improve skills and accelerate efforts to boost the progression of talent in the United Arab Emirates through to three core development programs. As part of the long-standing partnership with Huawei, du will equip graduate trainees, technology professionals and high-level professionals with the key technical skills, knowledge and competencies required in the business world. Also as part of the agreement, competitive leadership training will take place in the UK and Germany in partnership with prestigious business schools and Huawei.

The MoU was attended by the CEOs of du and Huawei during a signing ceremony held at Al Salam Tower on April 18, 2022. This latest announcement also aligns with the national agenda, which aims to improve local talent into the labor market and to ensure that they make valuable economic contributions through employment and entrepreneurship.

In partnership with Huawei, the Huawei Internship Program is a unique learning journey that will support UAE graduate interns over a period of 6-8 months, where participants will engage in simulated customer business scenarios through online and on-site learning, case sharing, and practice-based training. The first phase of learning will take place over five months as part of a technical specialist program and will focus on 5G education, 5G industrial applications and basic computer knowledge.
