Language training app ELSA invests over half a million in airline training program

Google-backed English-speaking AI trainer ELSA today announced an investment of more than $500,000 in resources to address the lack of language training offered to airline staff and air traffic control operators. The investment is being used to develop English language training content, programs and support for the airline industry.

Additionally, ELSA sponsors up to 50,000 trial licenses in its global aviation English program, developed with a leading carrier.

Amid post-COVID training cuts, airlines looking to retain their customer base can benefit from arming cabin crew and air traffic controllers with high-level English proficiency.

The University of Aeronautics study of English language and aviation safety found that pilots and air traffic controllers felt that current English training programs were unsatisfactory.

With airline customer complaints increasing 300%, now more than ever, carriers need to implement effective training methods to empower their employees to communicate confidently and delight their customers.

A study by Lorman found that 76% of employees said a company would be more attractive if it offered additional staff training, and retention rates increase by 30-50% for companies with a strong learning culture. . A holistic staff training program not only expands the horizon of opportunities for excellent customer service, but makes employees feel more valued.

ELSA CEO Vu Van comments on the program: “Proficiency in English is a key asset in an employee’s repertoire, and as the aviation industry rises, the focus must be on language training and development to help airline customers live.”

“Good communication skills are the keystone of excellence in aviation, and the ELSA application offers scalable and easy-to-integrate simulated training solutions, supporting increased collaboration between cabin and cockpit crews”
