Southend United’s new training ground progresses
BLUES fans can be among the first to get an exclusive glimpse of Southend United’s future training ground as work continues.
Club bosses say the 20-acre development to the north of the new stadium site is making “excellent progress” towards completion.
The Fossetts Farm project also plans to see 224 properties built off Eastern Avenue, Southend, after plans for a hotel were scrapped.
The first phase of the program is already underway, with the new training grounds installed and ready for use by winter.

A SHRIMPERS spokesperson said: “The four new Championship-quality training grounds at Fossetts are continuing at pace and on schedule.
“You can be one of the first to get an exclusive look at the club’s future training ground.
“The new facilities will, over time, prove a major ingredient for the future and success of the club and are the first step in the club’s relocation plans.”
The visits will take place initially on Saturday November 12, then the following week on November 19 at 11:30 a.m.
Guests will enjoy a one-hour tour, with approximately 20 seats available for each tour.

The club said further dates would be added if there was demand.
Changes announced in a revised planning application submitted to Southend Council in September also outline proposals to reduce the capacity of the planned new stadium to 16,226.
It is hoped that the new training grounds will be ready for use by winter.
Work will then begin on the east, west and south stands of the stadium, with construction due to finish in 2024.
The 224 new homes are expected to be built by 2028, according to plans.
The Southend United spokesperson added: “All guests who register will be emailed further details of meeting point etc.
“Any questions should be sent to [email protected].”
