The Verdon Fosse Legacy Professional Training Program is still accepting applications



The Verdon Fosse Legacy is still accepting applications for its first professional training program – an intensive summer by elite invitation for pre-professional dancers aged 16 and over.

Morning technique classes in ballet, East Indies, Afro-Cuban, rhythm and drama set up the critical basic training for the quintessential “pit dancer”. The afternoon will be devoted to the study of longer extracts from Fosse’s emblematic choreographic pieces in an intimate, constructive and stimulating classroom environment.

In addition to technical training and repertoire, students will receive personalized commentary, audition preparation, and an understanding of what it means to be a ‘Fosse dancer’ from seasoned Fosse performers and other guests of the Fosse. TBA industry.

Dates: July 19 to 30, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Broadway Dance Center

Daily schedule:

9:30 am-10:30am Ballet
10:30 am-11:30am Technical *
11:30 am-12:30pm Lunch break (off site)
12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fosse Jazz Technique
1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Training in the Fosse repertoire

* Technique classes will include East Indians, Afro-Cubans, Flamenco, Rhythm and Drama.

** Fosse Jazz gives dancers a basic training in the vocabulary, style, technique and historical influences that are integral to Bob Fosse’s iconic work. Fosse Jazz follows a traditional class structure with a full warm-up of classical jazz isolations and contractions, central work breaking down Fosse’s iconic walks, jumps and port de bras, and culminating with a deep dive into an excerpt from the choreography. authentic Fosse.
