Tourism Deptt Organizes Homestay Entrepreneurship Training Program in Kokernag – India Education | Latest Education News | World Education News

ANANTNAG: The Kashmir Tourism Authority today organized a one-day homestay entrepreneurship training program in Kokernag here.

The program is sponsored by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) under the Cluster Development program and is implemented by JK Developmental Action Group (JKDAG) and KPMG.

The program aims to train local youth/families to establish hospitality facilities for tourists, which will create job opportunities for youth and improve economic conditions for families.

Addressing a large gathering on the occasion, Kashmir Tourism Director Dr GN Itoo said homestay entrepreneurs will be supported by the tourism department to market their facilities through digital platforms. He added that the contractors will be certified by the tourism department and after the certification, the department will also facilitate the contractors to register their units with the department.

Dr Itoo further said that in the coming months, with the help of SIDBI, the training program will be organized in other potential tourist destinations in the valley to make the young people of these places self-sufficient and job providers. rather than job seekers.

Relevantly, the Homestay Entrepreneurship Training Program is a one-month course that includes three weeks of business training in the hospitality industry and one month of vocational training.

CEO, Kokernag Development Authority, Member of DDC Kokernag, Chairman of Kokernag Municipal Committee, Director of JKDAG Programs, Representative of KPMG, a large number of young people and the general public were present during the training program.
